Tom Robinson, MBA
Tom brings more than 18 years of experience in executive search, holding key leadership roles for two of the world’s top firms. In 2010, Tom co-founded RobinsonButler, a boutique executive search firm focused on recruiting the top “C” level Life Science talent in America, Europe and Asia. Previously, he was the Managing Director for Russell Reynold’s Global Medical Device Practice. Tom previously led the Global Medical Technology Practice at Spencer Stuart for 10 years from 2000-2010. Building upon 20 years of industry experience in top healthcare companies, he led senior level searches for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies.
Prior to Tom’s executive search experience, he was President, International at Boston Scientific Corporation, where he was responsible for all markets in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Canada. Earlier, he was President of Brunswick Biomedical, a cardiology startup. Tom was Head of M&A at Cardinal Health – which he helped grow to $4 billion in revenues – and General Manager of a $1 billion business unit. Tom started his healthcare career at Baxter International, where he held various sales and marketing positions within the V. Mueller operating room division. Tom was formerly on the Board of Directors of Cynosure, a NASDAQ-listed public medical device company. Sales at Cynosure have grown from $3 million in 2005 when he joined the board to $460 million in 2017, and the company was recently sold to Hologic for $1.65 billion. He was also on the Board of Directors for Sanuwave, another NASDAQ-listed public medical device company, and Biostage, a NASDAQ listed regenerative medicine company. Tom was President of the Harvard Business School Healthcare Alumni Association and a Co-Chair of the Global Annual Conference. He received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and his B.A. in mathematics and economics from Brown University. Tom was Ivy league basketball champion at Brown.
